With proper aeration, Comte de Peney regains its prestige with an intense, licorice-tinged attack on the palate, complemented by lightly vanilla and chocolatey red fruit. The youthful, though slightly tight, tannins are beautifully integrated into the dense structure of this great red wine. The mid-palate is wonderfully textured, with the juice perfectly balanced by this structured aging process, which is essential for its perfect cellaring and evolution.

Aged eighteen to twenty-four months in clay amphorae and then in barrels, Comte de Peney presents an incomparable range of aromas, with great complexity.

Comte de Peney is the result of over twenty years of research by Domaine des Balisiers to acclimatize Cabernet grapes originating from Bordeaux to the Swiss climate and terroir. It is composed of two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Cabernet Franc. The finest vintages can age for twenty years or more.
