Eye
True to form, La Dame Noire du Domaine des Balisiers reveals itself through a garnet red dress accompanied by intense, clear reflections and a brilliant ruby.
Nose
The nose is pleasing with lovely aromas of red fruit. As it opens up in the glass, the fruity notes become more pronounced, revealing subtle hints of menthol, which add a touch of lightness to this otherwise excellent wine.
appetizer
On the palate, the wine is quite generous, immediately offering a straightforward and enjoyable tasting experience with supple tannins and a lovely fullness of red fruit. Mid-palate, we perceive a certain freshness, undoubtedly thanks to this fine vintage, but above all, some chocolatey notes resulting from perfectly managed barrel aging.
In 2020, La Dame Noire once again enchanted us thanks to a wonderful marriage between these two grape varieties: Gamay and Pinot Noir.
In 1985, Domaine des Balisiers was one of the first to revive oak barrel aging, a practice virtually abandoned in Swiss vineyards during the Second World War due to a lack of imported wood. La Dame Noire is aged for 12 months in barrels.
